WomenCan, a pioneering women empowerment platform, is proud to announce Old Mutual SMEgo as a key partner for The State of Women Address (SOWA), set to take place on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2025, at Pere House, Midrand.
SOWA is more than just an event—it’s a movement designed to unite voices across genders in a transformative dialogue aimed at driving actionable solutions to the pressing challenges women face today. The initiative will bring together networks, organizations, and individuals committed to fostering meaningful change and accelerating progress for women.
"We are proud to be part of The State of Women Address. At Old Mutual SMEgo, we continuously seek partnerships that drive real impact and contribute to the advancement of women. Our commitment lies in delivering innovative solutions that address core business needs and enable growth," says Nobesuthu Ndlovu, Director SME, Old Mutual Corporate.
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Women’s Development Business Trust CEO, General Riah Phiyega, who will delve into multi-faceted issues affecting women—including diversity and inclusion, the gender pay gap, mental health, financial wellness, women empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
"We are incredibly excited to have Old Mutual SMEgo as a partner for SOWA. True progress requires collaboration between corporates, government, and key stakeholders to amplify marginalized voices, bridge gaps in understanding, and co-create strategies that address the systemic roots of gender disparities," says WomenCan Founder, Tumi Mthembu.
The event will be co-facilitated by renowned women’s empowerment advocate Olwethu Leshabane and radio veteran Thabo ‘Tbose’ Mokwele. Attendees can look forward to insightful panel discussions featuring dynamic female and male leaders, all curated to foster collaboration and ignite real change.
